An indoor marijuana-growing operation and stacks of cash were among items seized by local law enforcement during a drug bust on Dunsmore Avenue Monday afternoon.
William Hale, 45, of 4902 Dunsmore Ave., who now may be facing a litany of drug-related charges, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for violating probation and transported to the Ashtabula County Jail in Jefferson, said Detective Greg Leonhard of the Trumbull-Ashtabula Group Task Force .
The raid began at about 3 p.m. Monday when investigators with Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, TAG, the Ashtabula Police Department, Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration served Hale with a search warrant issued through Municipal Court, police records show.
Investigators then seized prescription medication, marijuana, more than a $1,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia, police said.
As officers searched the home, they discovered a small indoor marijuana-growing operation in the basement, police said. The officers confiscated the marijuana the drug paraphernalia, police said.
The search warrant was the result of a six-month investigation of prescription medication sales from the house, Leonhard said.
Additional drug charges are expected to be filed against another man who was at the residence at the time of the drug bust, Leonhard said.
